Abstract Introduction Management of cardiovascular risk is fundamental for patients with symptomatic atherosclerosis to reduce both medium and long-term morbidity mortality. All admitted operative vascular intervention atherosclerotic arterial disease should be prescribed appropriate secondary prevention. Methods This was a single-cycle retrospective audit in patient population undergoing single regional unit June 2020. Episodes care were examined the prescription an antiplatelet agent statin. Results There 81 procedures identified. The majority male mean age 63-years. A diagnosis diabetes common. Antiplatelet agents only 48 (59%) statins 61 (75%). no clear pattern that could defined between elective emergency admissions [antiplatelet 24 (71%) 23 (49%); statin 27 (79%) 34 (72%)], or reconstruction major limb amputation 28 (76%) 19 (45%); 31 (84%) (67%)]. Conclusion It concern significant proportion did not have and/or therapy prescribed. implies failure primary care. In medicines reconciliation process augmented regular review prescription.
